Life Logo™
VMK Innovations, Inc. (VMK) has released a new symbol for awareness. The Life™ logo and DoLife™ logo trademarks are intended to raise a fresh new and continued awareness for such causes as: breast cancer awareness and childhood cancer awareness.
VMK President, Victor Kasatshko, developed the new awareness ribbon logos to better symbolize the feeling of hope and confidence necessary in the battle against cancers. "The traditional awareness ribbon has become a saturated symbol that generates a negative feeling of defeat for me," Kasatshko said. "I want to celebrate the person's passion for life and the belief in hope; these are the emotions I feel with the Life™ logo," explained Kasatshko. "And if someone does loose their battle then I want to remember them while they were in Life, not in their battle with cancer," Kasatshko added.
Currently available on several cap styles and a "Keep Cool" bandana, the Life™ logo is available for any organization who wants to promote the passion for life and hope. Additionally, these trademarks are available for licensing through VMK. A portion of all Life™ logo sales will be donated to selected charities and VMK will make available audited statements to verify their contributions.
Who Gets the Money from Life™ Logo Proceeds and What Type of Organizations are Being Supported?
VMK wants to support as many individual organizations researching a cure for cancer, supporting those currently in the fight against cancer, and supporting those who generate awareness concerning environmental carcinogen hazards. To this end, VMK will donate proceeds from the Life™ logo based on two categories; charitable organizations who order Life™ products and charitable organizations directly supported by VMK.
All non-profit cancer related organizations that purchase Life™ products from VMK will receive a stated percentage of their total order amount directly back to the organization via a direct VMK donation. In this way, VMK supports those organizations directly, regardless of their geography. For example; a group in Southern California using the Life™ logo to promote their good work receives the same support as an organization in Tampa Bay.
For those revenues generated from for-profit sales of the Life™ logo, VMK will designate donations to those organizations involved in the fight for a cure and in the support of patients battling all cancers. Both national and local in scope, these organizations are directly supported by VMK and its stakeholders. However, all organizations in this category must have a 3 or 4 star rating by the Charity Navigator (www.charitynavigator.org), a national evaluator of charitable organizations.
How are the Funds Raised?
VMK charitable donations are raised directly from the sale of Life™ logo products sold by VMK. Additionally, any fees generated by the licensing of the Life™ logo by VMK will be included in the total revenue pool available for donation. Revenues from the sale of the Tiffany Style Ribbon lamps will also be included into the available revenue based donation pool.
How Much Money Actually Goes to the Cause?
Corporate America has a history of supporting worthy causes. Unfortunately, in some cases, the line between good corporate citizen and bad corporate greed becomes muddied if not completely obscured. As a for-profit corporation, VMK will base its donations on a percentage of gross sales. It is VMK's pledge to provide a transparent and audited statement of its charitable contributions. In this way, VMK will assure that it stands clearly and completely on the good corporate citizen side of the charitable contribution line.
